FC Porto manager Francesco Farioli has praised Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi following his impressive display in the club’s 2–1 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League tie on Thursday.

Moffi opened the scoring in the 21st minute before fellow Nigerian Zaidu Sanusi set up Rodrigo Mora to double Porto’s advantage in the 27th minute. Deniz Undav pulled one back for Stuttgart in the 40th minute, but the second half produced no further goals as the Portuguese side held on for a valuable away win.

The Nigerian forward featured for 59 minutes before being replaced by Deniz Gül. Speaking after the match, Farioli commended Moffi’s overall performance, noting the striker’s strong link-up play and effectiveness in duels.

“Terem had a great game. He was fantastic in his connections with his teammates and in his duels with opponents. He had a good understanding of the game,” the Italian manager said.

Farioli also praised the team’s overall progress but insisted there is still work to be done.

“It’s great to see that the team is growing. There were many good things, but nothing is finished. We have to turn the page and move on to the next chapter,” he added.

Since joining FC Porto on loan from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice during the winter transfer window, Moffi appears to have rediscovered his scoring touch. The Nigerian international has netted three goals in nine appearances, after managing just two goals in 10 Ligue 1 games earlier in the season.
