Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his impressive form with a goal and an assist as Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor in their Super Lig clash on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
Despite a tough clash where the league leaders were made to sweat for their opportunities, the Nigerian International proved to be the difference once again, assisting Lucas Torreira’s goal before scoring himself to seal the win.
Galatasaray opened the scoring on the brink of halftime, as Sacha Boey finished off a brilliant team move, making it 1-0 going into the break. However, the visitors leveled the scores four minutes into the second half through Steve Mounie’s header, bringing the game all square once again.
Few minutes before the hour mark, the hosts regained their lead. Victor Osimhen attempted a bicycle kick inside the box before Lucas Torreira latched onto the loose ball with his first touch and hit it into the net with his second, making it 2-1.

In the 83rd minute, Osimhen extended Galatasaray’s lead, profiting off a terrible mistake from goalkeeper Paulo Victor, who passed straight to the striker while trying to play out from the back. Osimhen punished the 39-year-old ruthlessly, dribbling past him before slotting the ball into an empty net to seal the win.
The result ensures that Galatasaray extend their lead at the top of the Super Lig to 58 points. Fenerbahçe remain second with 53 points while Trabzonspor are third with 51 points.
Galatasaray and Alanyaspor will face off against each other once again, this time in the Turkish Cup, on Tuesday. The leaders will be aiming to secure another victory while Joao Pereira’s side will be determined to avenge their league loss.
