Six Nigerian players have discovered their UEFA Europa League round of 16 opponents after the draw which took place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.
The round of 16 draw involved the eight winners of the two-legged knockout phase play-offs alongside the top eight sides from the league phase.
The draw was conducted by host Pedro Pinto, UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti, and ambassador Nuno Maniche, who won the UEFA Cup with Porto in 2002-03 and the Champions League with the same side the following season.

As revealed during the draw, Yusuf Bamidele’s Ferencváros will face off against Portuguese side Braga while striker Cyriel Dessers and his Panathinaikos side will battle La Liga outfit Real Betis.
Yira Sor’s Genk were drawn against Bundesliga team Freiburg while Terem Moffi’s Porto will face off against another German side Stuttgart.
After defeating Fenerbahçe in the play-offs, Premier League side Nottingham Forest, home to Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina, will meet Midtjylland where Goalkeeper Mark Ugboh plies his trade.

The UEFA Europa League round of 16 ties will be played on March 12th and March 19th, 2026, as teams continue to push for a ticket to the final in Istanbul.
