Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has been nominated for Club Brugge’s February Player of the Month following a string of commanding performances that underlined his growing influence at the Belgian side.
The 24-year-old featured in five matches across all competitions during the month, with Club Brugge suffering just one defeat while he was on the pitch. His standout display came in a comprehensive 3-0 league victory over Standard Liege, where he delivered a Player of the Match performance.
Onyedika also rose to the occasion on the European stage in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off first leg against Atletico Madrid. With Club Brugge trailing 2-0 at half-time, the Nigerian international inspired a spirited comeback, scoring moments after the restart to reduce the deficit to 2-1 before later providing the assist for the equaliser in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

The midfielder’s influence was undoubtedly missed in the return leg. Suspended after picking up a yellow card in the first encounter, Onyedika was not able to play as Club Brugge suffered a 4-1 defeat, bringing their Champions League campaign to an end.
Onyedika will compete for the monthly accolade alongside some other very talented players. Defender Joel Ordonez earns his nomination after combining solid defensive displays with attacking contributions, scoring twice during February. Forward Nicolò Tresoldi also makes the shortlist after netting four goals in six appearances.
Highly rated 20-year-old midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic is recognised for featuring in every match throughout the month while providing an assist, and winger Mamadou Diakhon completes the list of nominees after contributing two assists in six games.
Supporters can cast their votes for their preferred player of the month on the club’s official website, with the winner set to be announced in the coming days.
