Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze continued his fine run of form for Fulham, scoring his third Premier League goal of the season in a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Brighton at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
The result denied Brighton a first-ever Premier League win away at Fulham, as Chukwueze’s second-half equaliser cancelled out Yasin Ayari’s opener before Harry Wilson sealed all three points with a stunning free-kick deep into stoppage time.
Fulham started the contest on the front foot, creating several early half-chances, but it was the visitors who struck first. Brighton took the lead in the 28th minute when Ayari pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful strike past Bernd Leno to put the Seagulls ahead.
Marco Silva responded decisively in the second half, introducing Ryan Sessegnon and Chukwueze in the 59th minute before bringing on Tom Cairney ten minutes later. The substitutions paid off almost immediately as Joachim Andersen split Brighton’s defence with a superb long pass that released Chukwueze. The Nigerian winger showed composure, taking a touch before calmly rolling the ball past Bart Verbruggen to restore parity.

Brighton briefly thought they had reclaimed the lead when Danny Welbeck found the net just two minutes later, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR check. With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Fulham struck late. In the dying moments of stoppage time, Wilson stepped up to curl a brilliant free-kick beyond the Brighton goalkeeper, sparking wild celebrations among the home fans.
The victory lifts Fulham to seventh place on the Premier League table with 34 points, just three points shy of the top four. Brighton, meanwhile, drop to 12th with 30 points after suffering their first league defeat in five matches.
Up next for Fulham is a tough away clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 1, while Brighton will look to bounce back when they host Everton on Saturday, January 31.
Chukwueze’s goal against Brighton takes his Premier League tally to three for the season. Despite featuring in only 10 league matches, the winger has now registered seven goal contributions, underlining his growing influence and impressive development under Marco Silva.
