Nigerian forward Bamidele Yusuf scored his 10th goal of the season as Ferencváros were held to a 1-1 draw by Panathinaikos in their Europa League clash at the Groupama Aréna on Thursday, Bold Sports reports.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring in the 62nd minute, converting from the penalty spot to give the Hungarian side the lead. However, the visitors drew level late on through substitute winger Anass Zaroury, who found the net just minutes after coming on to rescue a point for the Greek outfit.

The result means Ferencváros remain unbeaten in the Europa League this season and leaves them seventh in the league phase standings with 15 points. They will now turn their attention to the final league phase fixture next Thursday, travelling to face Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest.

Victory in that clash will secure a top-eight finish for the Hungarian side, guaranteeing their spot in the round of 16 and ensuring they avoid the play-offs.

Panathinaikos, meanwhile, revived their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds with the draw, climbing to 19th on the standings and knowing that victory in their final league phase match against Italian side Roma will guarantee their progression to at least the play-offs.

For Bamidele Yusuf, the goal marks another milestone in an outstanding campaign. Having started the season at Serbian side Vojvodina where he recorded three goals and three assists in five games, the forward has added seven goals and three assists in 17 appearances since joining Ferencváros.

In the Europa League alone, the Nigerian has now registered two goals and two assists in six matches, underlining his growing influence at the top level.
