‎Nigeria head coach Éric Chelle has opted for continuity as he named an attacking 4-3-1-2 formation for today’s Afcon clash against Algeria, making only minor adjustments to the team that swept aside Mozambique 4-0 in the round of 16.

‎Stanley Nwabali continues in goal after his solid display against Mozambique, retaining his place as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper. The defensive unit remains familiar, with Bright Osayi-Samuel and Bruno Onyemaechi deployed as full-backs, while Semi Ajayi partners Calvin Bassey in central defence.

‎In midfield, skipper Wilfred Ndidi once again anchors the side, offering protection in front of the back four. He is joined by Frank Onyeka, who keeps his spot from the Mozambique game, and Alex Iwobi, who operates in a more progressive role.

‎Further forward, Ademola Lookman is trusted to play just behind the strikers, continuing in the advanced midfield position where he excelled in the last match.

‎Up front, Victor Osimhen leads the attack and is partnered by Adams, maintaining the strike combination that proved decisive against Mozambique.

‎Chelle’s selection underlines his belief in squad stability, as Nigeria look to test the same attacking framework against a tougher Algerian side.
