Oshoala scores second consecutive hat-trick to lead Al Hilal to Premier Challenge Cup final

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala scored a hat-trick for the second consecutive game, helping Al Hilal secure a 6-2 victory over Al Ahly to reach the final of the Saudi Women’s Premier Challenge Cup, Bold Sports reports.

The six-time African Women’s Player of the Year had netted an impressive hat-trick in Al Hilal’s 5-0 victory over Eastern Flames to reach the semi-finals. She’s now one step away from winning her first trophy for the Riyadh-based club.

After a brilliant start to the game, Oshoala opened the scoring for Al Hilal before another goal few minutes later gave the team a two-goal advantage heading into the second half.

Al Hilal continued their impressive performance in the second half as Jéssica Silva made the scoreline 3-0 before Oshoala scored the team’s fourth and her second to all but secure victory over Al Ahly.

Jessica and Oshoala scored the fifth and sixth goals late in the half to ensure Al Hilal’s passage to the final of the Saudi Women’s Premier Challenge Cup, a trophy the team will be aiming to lift for the first time.

In the other semi-final, Al Nassr thrashed Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega’s Al Ittihad 5-0 with a brace from Clara Luvanga as well as goals from Andreia Faria, Ruth Kipoyi, and Shuruq Al-Hawsawi sealing the dominant victory.

Al Nassr and Al Hilal, who currently sit first and second in the Saudi Women’s Premier League standings, will now compete for the Challenge Cup trophy, with Oshoala aiming to continue her unstoppable form in the tournament’s final.
