Remo Stars will be aiming to return to winning ways when they welcome Kano Pillars in a high-stakes Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, Bold Sports reports.
The defending champions have endured a terrible run of form, losing six of their last seven matches. Their famed 56-game unbeaten home streak was snapped in their previous league outing against Rangers, a defeat that plunged them to 18th on the log with just 13 points.
Wednesday’s fixture offers a chance for redemption, and they face a Kano Pillars side equally short on confidence. Pillars have been woeful on the road this season, losing all six of their away fixtures and currently sitting bottom of the table with six points from 12 matches. Their last league win came in October, and they have since gone six games without victory.
Remo Stars will take confidence from their recent dominance in this fixture. Last season, the Sky Blue Stars completed a double over the Sai Masu Gida, winning 2–1 at home after sealing a 2–0 victory in Kano.

A win on Wednesday would not only lift Remo Stars out of the relegation zone but also provide the momentum they desperately need as they attempt to claw their way back up the table.
Meanwhile, in another Wednesday matchup, Rivers United will look to extend their impressive five-game unbeaten run when they lock horns with Barau FC. Finidi George’s men could end the day top of the NPFL standings if they secure maximum points.
