Nigeria’s Falconets capped off a flawless campaign at the WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup with a 1-0 victory over hosts Benin Republic at the Omnisport Stadium in Adjohoun on Wednesday, sealing their fourth win in four matches, Bold Sports reports.

The team had already secured the title after dominant displays in their opening three games, including back-to-back wins over defending champions Ghana and a convincing result against the hosts.

Yet, they showed no signs of complacency in their final outing, finding the breakthrough in the 16th minute through prolific forward Kareem Ramotalahi, who finished the tournament as top scorer with four goals.

The Falconets’ defensive solidity was again on display as they conceded just one goal throughout the entire competition, a record that earned Christiana Ijeoma Uzoma the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.

Midfielder Kafayat Oluwatosin Mafisere also shone in the final game, clinching the Woman of the Match award for her commanding performance against the hosts.

The only major accolade that eluded Nigeria was the Best Player of the Tournament, which went to Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko, who impressed with two goals and an assist despite her team’s inability to defend their title.

Head coach Moses Aduku and his players will now look to build on their perfect run as they turn their focus to the final round of qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup, carrying strong momentum and belief from their triumph in Adjohoun.
