Josh Okogie delivered one of his best performances of the season to help propel the Houston Rockets to their fifth consecutive win, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 124–109 at the FedExForum in Memphis.

The D’Tigers shooting guard posted an impressive all-around display with 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. He also put in a solid defensive shift, helping to neutralize the threat of Grizzlies stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Okogie was one of seven Rockets players to record double figures. Amen Thompson led the charge with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, while Alperen Şengün notched a double-double with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists. Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason contributed 16 points apiece, Reed Sheppard added 12, and Kevin Durant finished with 11 points in the win.

Okogie, who sank three of his five attempts from beyond the arc, credited his teammates and coaches for boosting his confidence.

“My teammates and the coaching staff told me to keep shooting and to believe in myself. I do believe in myself, so I kept shooting,” Okogie said after the game.

The Rockets’ defensive effort paid off, as Morant was limited to just 17 points and eight assists, while Jackson managed only nine points. Okogie explained that shutting down Memphis’s key players was central to their game plan.

“We came in with an excellent game plan to stop their energizers, Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, and we were able to keep them under control,” he noted.

Okogie also highlighted the team’s chemistry and unselfish play as key to their recent success.

“That’s what we preach and practice – unselfishness, keeping the ball moving, and maintaining good floor spacing. Everybody brings energy. We don’t need to motivate each other; we stay self-motivated, and you can see that on the court.”
