Josh Maja scored his first goal of the season to hand West Brom a 1-0 victory over Norwich City, ending a nine-month wait to find the back of the net. The game also marked his first start of the campaign.
Manager Ryan Mason gave the Nigeria international his long-awaited start, and the 26-year-old rewarded him with a fine finish after Norwich failed to clear their lines.
Maja had last scored on January 1, 2025, when he netted twice in a 3-1 win over Preston North End. However, a calf injury sidelined him for the rest of the season.

The striker was substituted in the 60th minute for Aune Haggebo as the club carefully manages his return to full fitness. Despite missing 20 games last season, Maja still finished as West Brom’s top scorer with 12 goals in 26 league appearances.
The victory was West Brom’s fourth of the season in eight matches, lifting them to fourth place in the Championship table.
