The Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially presented brand new team buses to Warri Wolves Football Club and Delta Queens Football Club.
This intervention follows recent challenges experienced by Warri Wolves during an away trip to Maiduguri, an isolated occurrence that is foreign to sports in Delta State.
Presenting the buses, Governor Sheriff reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of athletes and the development of sports across the state.

“Delta State, when it comes to sports in Nigeria are doing very well and you need to motivate the players. I was told that they were going for an away game and they had a flat tire and some other issues that derailed them.
“I called the Chairman of the Sports Commission and told him that I’m going to procure two coaster and two hiace buses, one set for Warri Wolves and the other set for the Delta Queens, and this will motivate them.”

Speaking after receiving the buses, Coach of Delta Queens, Samson Keshi, and Captain of Delta Queens, Owoeye Temilope Jenifer, expressed their profound gratitude to the Governor, promising to always do their best to make the state proud.
Speaking to the press after the presentation, the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onoriode Joshua Oborevwori, assured that the State Government and his commission will continue to prioritize the welfare of all athletes and teams, while working tirelessly to sustain Delta’s position as the leading sports hub in Nigeria.
