D’Tigress forward Amy Okonkwo made her WNBA debut in style, scoring eight points in just nine minutes, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Dallas Wings from suffering a 95-60 defeat to the Seattle Storm on Friday night (Saturday morning Nigerian time).
Okonkwo, who joined the Wings on a seven-day hardship contract, featured at the College Park Center but could not help her side avoid a 10th consecutive loss.
The 2023 and 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Most Valuable Player showcased her quality during her brief spell on the court, contributing eight points and two rebounds.

Maddy Siegrist led the Wings with 12 points, while Rookie of the Year contender Paige Bueckers added 11. Okonkwo and Diamond Miller chipped in with eight points each.
For the Storm, Dominique Malonga delivered a dominant performance with a game-high 22 points, while Erica Wheeler added 19. Nneka Ogwumike managed just four points in 22 minutes, her lowest tally of the season.
Okonkwo will be available when the Wings face the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday as she looks to help them snap their losing streak and possibly earn an extension with the franchise.
