The long-running transfer saga involving Victor Osimhen appears to be drawing to a close, as Galatasaray have now provided a bank letter of credit to guarantee full payment of the Nigerian striker’s €75 million fee to Napoli, Bold Sports reports.

This major step signals growing confidence on both sides that a deal is imminent—though final formalities may still take a few more days.

For the second consecutive summer, Osimhen has been seeking a permanent move away from Naples. After a proposed transfer to Chelsea collapsed at the final hour last summer, the Super Eagles striker made the switch to Istanbul on loan—where he flourished.

The 25-year-old reignited his goal-scoring form in the Turkish Super Lig, proving instrumental in Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign. He emerged the highest goal scorer in the league, scoring 26 goals. He was also named the Player of the Year.

Sources in Italy say Napoli initially requested €50 million as an immediate payment, with the remaining €25 million to be settled by the end of 2026. However, Galatasaray’s latest financial proposal includes a bank-backed letter of credit, ensuring Napoli that the full sum will be paid—even if in staggered instalments.

Football Italia reports that Napoli may agree to a slightly reduced upfront figure, so long as the full transfer fee is received within a 12-month window. The Italian club are eager to move decisively in the market and want certainty around incoming funds before committing to replacements.

While the final stages of the deal are now largely administrative, including compliance with financial regulations and cross-border banking requirements, there is optimism from all parties that the move will be finalized soon.

While final signatures are pending, all indications are that Victor Osimhen is set to wear Galatasaray’s colours permanently, ending a turbulent chapter in Naples and beginning a new era in Istanbul.
