Justina Eyakpobeyan led four Nigerian women into the 100m quarterfinals at the NCAA West Prelims in Texas, clocking 11.30s to finish third in the opening heat and keep Nigeria’s presence strong in the sprints.

Her performance comes same Tima Godbless lit up the East Prelims in Florida with a jaw-dropping World Lead of 10.91s — the fastest women’s 100m time in the world this year.

The 19-year-old LSU sprinter shattered her personal best and became the fourth-fastest Nigerian woman in history, setting the tone for what’s already been a standout NCAA prelims for Team Nigeria.

Rejoice Sule and Magdalene George matched Eyakpobeyan’s 11.30s mark in their respective heats — George’s coming with slight wind assistance — while Olayinka Olajide ran 11.32s to place third and book her spot in the next round.
