West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, along with Iñaki Williams, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah, and Elisha Owusu, are all absent from Ghana’s Unity Cup squad released by head coach Otto Addo due to injuries ahead of their semi-final clash against Nigeria.
According to the Ghana Football Association, head coach Otto Addo has also granted a break to Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey and Plymouth’s Michael Baidoo, leaving them out of the 23-man squad.
In addition to the injured players, Jerome Opoku, Kingsley Schindler, and Alexander Djiku were not invited as the Turkish league season is still ongoing. Likewise, Joseph Paintsil and Osman Bukari remain unavailable due to commitments in the MLS, which is also in progress.

Meanwhile, Jonas Adjetey is also ruled out as he is set to feature in the Swiss Cup final on June 1, with his club Biel/Bienne aiming to make history by defeating Basel, following a remarkable run that saw them become the first third-tier team to reach the final.
Four home-based players, namely Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Razak Simpson of Nations FC, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC, and Kwame Opoku of Asante Kotoko, have been included in the squad while former West Ham goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh Anang, who plays in Ireland for St. Patrick’s Athletic, has also been handed his debut call-up.
Afena Gyan returns to the team after close to two years’ absence, while Abdul Samed Salis makes a comeback following his recovery from an injury that kept him on the sidelines for half of the season.

Ghana’s Black Stars will face off against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the second semi-final of the 2025 Unity Cup on May 28 at the 17,250-capacity Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London.
Prior to the highly-anticipated encounter, the competition will begin on Tuesday, May 27, with the opening semi-final, where Trinidad and Tobago will face Jamaica in the first-ever ‘Trini-Jam’ clash on UK soil.
The winners of both semi-final games will then battle for the Unity Cup title on Saturday, 31st May while the losers will compete in the third-place match.
