Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina has reflected on his impressive campaign following his nomination for the 2025 EA Sports FC Premier League team of the season alongside six other Nottingham Forest players.
Ola Aina was shortlisted in the defender’s category along with his teammates Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo, as well as Virgil Van Dijk, Gabriel Magalhães, Antonee Robinson, William Saliba, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konaté, and Milos Kerkez.
The 28-year-old has been one of the most consistent fullbacks in the league this season, starting 30 games before sustaining a calf-related injury in Forest’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Looking back on his season so far, Ola Aina highlighted Nottingham Forest’s win against Liverpool at Anfield as his favorite moment, while their triumph over Manchester City was the match that held the most significance for him.

The fullback named goalkeeper Mats Sels as the most underrated player at Nottingham Forest, stating: “He has kept us in a few games this season. Some games if it weren’t for him, it could have been dark.”
Ola Aina chose Morgan Gibbs-White’s “fantastic” strike against Wolves away as his favorite goal of the season and also reminisced about his own celebration after he scored against West Ham in a thrilling 3-0 win.
Asides from Aina, Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi was also nominated for the team of the season in the midfield category. Voting will close on Sunday 20 April, giving supporters time to select deserving players who have impressed during the season.
