Super Eagles winger Moses Simon was on the scoresheet for Nantes, scoring his seventh league goal but experiencing defeat as Le Havre secured a 3-2 win in their entertaining Ligue 1 clash on Sunday.
Moses Simon, who played 90 minutes in both of the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualification games during the International break returned to the starting line-up for Nantes as they sought for a win to steer them clear of the relegation zone.
Few minutes into the game, the visitors experienced a setback as Saidou Sow handled the ball in the box, leading to a penalty which was expertly converted by Abdoulaye Touré, giving Le Havre the lead. 10 minutes after going behind, Saidou Sow atoned for his earlier handball, scoring with a precise header to level the scoreline.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Guinean center back committed another penalty just four minutes after he scored, fouling Abdoulaye Touré who made no mistake from the spot once again, scoring to give the home side the lead going into half time.
Few minutes into the second half, Moses Simon scored his seventh league goal to level the scoreline for the second time in the match. Just when it seemed nothing could separate both teams, Timothée Pembélé scored in the 88th minute, securing all three points for the home side and sending their supporters into a frenzy of celebration.
While Le Havre remain 16th on the Ligue 1 standings, the crucial victory means they now have 24 points in 27 matches, three points behind Nantes who sit 13th.
Le Havre will thus be desperate to secure another win when they face bottom side, Montpellier on Sunday, April 6 while Nantes will hope to bounce back and avoid dropping into the relegation zone in their clash against Nice on Friday.
