New Super Eagles invitee, Igoh Ogbu scored his second goal of the season, helping Slavia Prague secure a convincing 3-0 victory over Jablonec at the Fortuna Arena on Sunday.
Slavia Prague were eager to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 loss to rivals Sparta Prague, which ended their seven-game unbeaten streak. However, they faced a challenging task against an in-form Jablonec side that had gone six games without a loss.
Despite the challenge, Slavia Prague took an early lead when Igoh Ogbu capitalized on a defensive mistake, winning the ball and slotting it into the net. Minutes later, Thomas Chory converted a penalty to double Slavia Prague’s lead, giving them a 2-0 advantage after just 18 minutes.
Slavia Prague continued to punish their opponents, scoring their third goal in the 34th minute when Igoh Ogbu almost scored again with a volley that bounced off the crossbar but eventually found its way into the net via an own goal by Jablonec’s goalkeeper, Hanuš.

After their dominant first-half performance, Slavia Prague adopted a more cautious approach in the second half, focusing on maintaining possession and preventing Jablonec from creating scoring opportunities. The home side ultimately secured a 3-0 win in front of their fans, bouncing back from their previous loss in style.
The victory took Slavia Prague to 68 points in 26 matches, 13 points clear of second-placed Sparta Prague. With three league games remaining before the Championship playoff, the league leaders will aim to finish the season on a high note after the international break.
On the other hand, Igoh Ogbu will now join his Super Eagles teammates in Kigali, where the camp has opened ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda on March 21 and Zimbabwe on March 25.
