Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Victor Boniface are expected to link up with other members of the Super Eagles ahead of their international friendly against Russia on June 6th at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Defenders Troost-Ekong, Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Raphael Onyedika, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as well as forwards Victor Boniface and Sadiq Umar are expected to join up with the team for the friendly after missing the Unity Cup due to club commitment.
Head coach Eric Chelle has also tweaked the squad by extending invites to three Nigeria Premier Football League contingent Sikiru Alimi, Isaac Saviour and Sodiq Ismail have been drafted to continue with the team after their impressing the coach during the Unity Cup.
Nigeria are unbeaten in their last two friendly games after defeating Ghana and Jamaica in the Unity Cup in May and will be looking to continue the run.

Cyriel Dessers’ early goal and a subsequent own-goal gave the Super Eagles a 2-1 win over West African rivals Ghana, but they needed a penalty shootout to defeat an aggressive Jamaica side in the final and clinch the Unity Cup title for the second time.
The Unity Cup and the friendly match against Russia are part of the Super Eagles’ build-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which resume in September, and the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for December.
Meanwhile, despite their FIFA ban, Russia will look to use the friendly to stay active and competitive on the international football scene, following previous games against Belarus, Thailand, Brunei, and Syria between September and November last year.
