Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali finds himself with a new coach at Chippa United, as Sinethemba Badela has been appointed to the role, Bold Sports reports.
Badela, previously an assistant coach at Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club, has finalized his move to the Chilli Boys after former coach Kwanele Kopo declined a contract extension, citing family reasons.
Chippa United finished 11th last season, and the club hopes Badela’s arrival, bringing significant experience from a high-profile club like Wydad, will improve their fortunes.

For Nwabali, who was brought to the club by Kopo, this coaching change comes amidst strong speculation of a summer transfer, with interest from clubs across South Africa and beyond.
The Nigeria international, who not only captains the Chilli Boys but was also one of their most impactful players last season, will undoubtedly be a key figure in discussions with new coach Badela regarding his future at the club.
Badela’s coaching philosophy centers on possession-based football, a style he developed during his time at All Stars and as Mamelodi Sundowns DDC coach before joining Wydad with Mokwena in 2024/25.
