Rivers Hoopers have announced their final 13-man roster ahead of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) playoffs and finals in Pretoria, South Africa.
Led by Coach Ogoh Odaudu, the team features five guards: Kevin Amayo, Maxi Shamba, Michael Okiki, Abel Ofia, and Ahmed Doumbia.
The roster includes forwards Ifeanyi Koko Jr., Madut Akec, Raphiael Putney, and Buchi Nwaiwu, while the centers are Chingka Garba, Peter Olisemeka, Samuel Sani, and David Ike.

Rivers Hoopers, who finished second in the Kalahari Conference, will face Union Sportive Monastir, the top team from the Sahara Conference, in the quarterfinals. A win will see them advance to the semifinals.
This matchup marks a rematch of their 2024 quarterfinal clash, where the Hoopers edged past the Tunisians with a narrow 92-88 victory. US Monastir will be eager to avenge that loss, but the Hoopers are prepared for the challenge.
“They’re definitely not the same team from last year,” said guard Kevin Amayo. “I watched US Monastir in the Sahara Conference — they played very well. We’re going to bring high-level intensity and strong defense.”
The Kingsmen are aiming to surpass last year’s achievement, where they finished third, and will be going all out in pursuit of the title this time around.
