Lille are currently ahead of RC Lens in the pursuit of red-hot Nigerian striker, Gift Orban, according to reports in France.
Both teams have been at loggerheads for the Nigerian after his explosive season with KAA Gent in the Belgian Jupiler League where he scored a total of 39 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions with Stabæk in the Norwegian League and Gent in the second half of the season.
Most of Orban’s exploits which exposed him to the world came in the colours of Gent after joining the Belgian side during the January transfer window. He took the league by storm scoring 20 goals and providing two assists in 22 games for the side. he had earlier scored 19 goals in 24 games for his Norwegian team before making a switch to Gent.

Lille and Lens in the last four weeks have been in contact with the Nigerian and his agent over a possible transfer, however, details concerning his transfer have gone cold but according to L’Actu Des Dogues, Lille are ahead in the chase for the Nigerian.
“RC Lens and LOSC are in competition over Orban. But I think Lille have a head start.”
Orban has resumed pre-season training ing with Gent ahead of the new season, however, it is almost certain that the 20-year-old will not be playing his football in Belgium this season.
