British heavyweight Anthony Joshua is nearing a fight announcement for his highly anticipated return to Wembley Stadium in September.
This marks a shift from his recent string of fights in Saudi Arabia. Promoter Turki Alalshikh is making his debut in the UK market by sponsoring Joshua’s homecoming bout.
Joshua has a successful history at Wembley, having sold out the stadium twice for his world title victories.
An official announcement is expected soon, following Joshua’s social media update: “Nearly finished my negotiations for my next fight! Feeling motivated.”
While a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury was initially considered, those plans are on hold due to their upcoming December fight.

Deontay Wilder was also a possibility, but recent losses took him out of the running.
This opens the door for a potential all-British clash between Joshua and Daniel Dubois. Dubois recently secured the IBF interim champion title, putting him in line for a shot at the belt currently held by Usyk.
With Usyk facing potential title stripping due to his rematch with Fury, Joshua and Dubois are set to battle for the vacant IBF strap at Wembley.
A press conference in London on June 26 is expected to officially confirm Joshua’s next fight and title aspirations. He is coming off a strong performance, defeating former UFC star Francis Ngannou in the second round back in March.
