Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey emerged as Nigeria’s most featured player in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, according to a recent report which analysed players from the 64 different nations represented in the league and identified the top performer from each country by minutes played.

Bassey was a crucial figure in Fulham’s impressive campaign, clocking 3,074 minutes across 34 Premier League starts. Under the guidance of manager Marco Silva, the 24-year-old helped anchor the defense as the Cottagers secured a historic 54-point finish — their highest ever in a Premier League season.

The Nigerian international’s minutes mark a notable step up from his debut season at Fulham, where he featured for 2,300 minutes, underscoring his growth and rising influence at the London-based club.
