Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers’ future is uncertain despite a 22-goal debut season, according to reports.
While Dessers finished as the team’s top scorer (16 goals in the Scottish Premiership), his performances haven’t fully convinced manager Philippe Clement.
Ibrox News claims Clement is targeting a new striker and has tabled a £1.5m bid for Moroccan prospect Hamza Igamane.
The 21-year-old Igamane impressed with FAR Rabat last season, scoring 7 goals in 23 games. He’s also a U23 international with 6 goals in 6 caps. Transfermarkt values him at just £380,000.
“If Rangers do win the race for Igamane, they may well decide that Dessers is surplus to requirements, especially with Danilo expected to be back to full fitness at the start of the next campaign,” the report stated.
Rangers have already brought in Oscar Cortes, Jefte, and Clinton Nsiala as Clement rebuilds the squad after losing the Premiership title.
