Super Eagles striker, Umar Sadiq, broke his 11-game La Liga goal drought by scoring for Real Sociedad in their thrilling 3-2 victory against Granada.

Sadiq leveled the score for Sociedad in the 33rd minute, nullifying Myrto Uzuni’s early opener from the penalty spot in the 21st minute. Uzuni struck again just before halftime to put Granada ahead 2-1.

The game saw Robin Le Normand equalize for Sociedad in the 80th minute, followed by André Silva securing the winning goal in the 85th minute. This victory elevates Sociedad to sixth place in the standings, one point ahead of Real Betis, who have a game in hand.

Before this match, the Nigerian international’s last goal came for Sociedad in their 1-1 draw against Osasuna on December 2, 2023. Since then, he had endured a goalless streak spanning 11 La Liga games, five Copa Del Rey matches, and two UEFA Champions League fixtures.

The 27-year-old former AS Roma striker was substituted after 63 minutes, paving the way for André Silva, whose late goal secured the win for Sociedad.
