Nigeria Professional Football League champion Enyimba and runner-up Remo Stars will face tricky tests against Libya’s Al Ahli Benghazi and Ghana’s Medeama SC in the preliminary round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League campaign.

Both Nigerian representatives qualified for the competition as champions and runners-up. Enyimba will face Libyan Premier League runners-up Al Ahli Benghazi while Remo Stars would lock horns against Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC.

The winner of the tie between Enyimba and Al Ahli will face either Coton Sport of Benin Republic or ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast for a place in the money-spinning group stage.

Both Enyimba and Al Ahli are no strangers to themselves. Both teams last met in 2021 with Al Ahli knocking the Aba Elephants out of the CAF Confederation Cup Group phase qualifiers.

On the other hand, a tricky tie awaits Remo Stars who will face off against Ghana League champions Medeama in their debut season. Medeama had the season of a lifetime beating Aduana Stars, Bechem United, and Asanti Kotoko to their maiden league title.
