Stanley Iheanacho continued his impressive start to the new season, scoring for the second consecutive game as Midtjylland played out a 1-1 with Lyngby in their Danish Superliga clash on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Nigerian, who opened his account for the campaign in Midtjylland’s Conference League qualifying win over Bohemian, once again made his mark after coming off the bench.
Iheanacho was introduced at the start of the second half alongside Denil Castillo, and needed just four minutes to put his side ahead. The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, finding the net with a brilliant finish to give Midtjylland a 1-0 lead.
However, the visitors’ advantage lasted only nine minutes before Gustav Fraulo restored parity for Lyngby.

Both sides created opportunities to clinch all three points in the closing stages, but neither could find the decisive goal as the game ended 1-1.
The result saw Midtjylland drop points for the first time in the 2026/27 Danish Superliga season, although they remain third in the table with seven points from their opening three matches. Lyngby, meanwhile, sit 11th with two points after recording two draws and suffering two defeats.
Midtjylland will now shift their focus back to European competition as they prepare to face Rijeka in the Conference League play-off round, with a place in the league phase at stake.
The first leg is scheduled for Thursday, with the return fixture set to take place a week later.
Iheanacho will be hoping to maintain his impressive form and make another telling contribution as Midtjylland continue their European campaign.
