Shukurat Oladipo has been crowned the best defender for the 2025/26 Serie A Femminile campaign, and has also earned a spot in the team of the season following her impressive performances for AS Roma.
The Super Falcons center back made 18 appearances in the league, playing a key role in defense as Roma clinched the title for the third time in the club’s history.
Throughout the season, the 21-year-old displayed calmness on the ball. She was also highly effective due to her physical strength and ability to complete interceptions, tackles, recoveries and duels,
Roma conceded only nine goals while Shukurat Oladipo was on the pitch. They were unbeaten in the league with the Nigerian defender and kept eight clean sheets in her 18 appearances.

Due to her consistent performances, Shukurat Oladipo was recognised in the league’s award night on Monday. Asides from being named the league’s best defender, she was also one of four Roma players named in the team of the season.
The team includes Como goalkeeper Astrid Gilardi in goal. Shukurat is joined in defense by Estela Carbonell (Juventus), Ivana Andrés (Inter Milan), and Caterina Ambrosi (Parma).
Roma trio Manuela Giugliano, Giulia Dragoni, and Giada Greggi take up the midfield spots. Tessa Wullaert (Inter), Martina Piemonte (Lazio), Cecilie Fløe (Napoli) are named in attack.
Despite an amazing breakout campaign, Shukurat Oladipo’s season could get even better. The young defender would get a chance to lift another trophy when Roma face Juventus in the Coppa Italia final.
The huge clash is scheduled to take place at Stadio Romeo Menti on Sunday, May 24.
