Ademola Lookman was on target as Atletico Madrid secured a 2-1 victory over Osasuna in their league clash at Estadio El Sadar on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles winger took his tally to three La Liga goals in 10 games. Across all competitions, he has now scored eight goals since moving to Spain.
Atletico Madrid began the game strongly and were rewarded with a penalty after a handball by Javi Galán. Ademola Lookman stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, making it 1-0.

The hosts got a penalty of their own on the cusp of halftime as Ante Budimir collided with goalkeeper Juan Musso. However, after a VAR check, the decision was overturned, leading to a dramatic first half conclusion.
Striker Alexander Sørloth came on at the start of the second half, replacing Thiago Almada. The change proved to be impactful as the Norwegian scored Atletico’s second goal in the 71st minute, making it 2-0.
Few minutes later, the visitors were reduced to ten men as Marcos Llorente received a second yellow card. Osasuna took advantage of the numerical superiority, reducing the deficit in the 91st minute.
However, the hosts were unable to complete a comeback, suffering their third straight league defeat.

The result means that Osasuna remain in danger of relegating despite sitting 11th. They are three points clear of the relegation zone, but have played one game more.
For Atletico, the result takes them to 66 points in 36 matches. They remain fourth in La Liga, but could still finish third if they win their last two games.
