Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Rafiu Durosinmi’s Pisa have officially been relegated from the Italian Serie A following a 2-1 defeat to Lecce on Friday, Bold Sports reports.
Pisa’s difficult campaign has seen them manage just two wins, 12 draws, and 21 losses, making them the first club to be relegated from Serie A in the 2025/26 season with three matches still left to play.
Akinsanmiro has been with the club since the start of the season on loan from Inter Milan, while fellow Nigerian Durosinmi arrived during the January transfer window from Viktoria Plzen in a bid to strengthen Pisa’s attacking options.
However, Durosinmi has struggled to make the desired impact in front of goal, scoring just once in 12 appearances since his arrival.

With two Nigerians already relegated, Gift Orban could also be dragged into the drop zone as Hellas Verona sit dangerously close to demotion, needing just one more defeat to confirm their relegation. Verona have also endured a miserable season, collecting only 19 points from 34 matches after recording three wins, 10 draws, and 21 losses.
David Okereke’s Cremonese are equally battling for survival, currently sitting 18th on the table after 34 games, four points behind Lecce, who have played a game more.
As things stand, only two Super Eagles stars – Maduka Okoye (Udinese) and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (Lazio) – are on course to remain in Serie A next season.
