Inter Lagos have secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after playing out a 1-1 draw with Smart City FC on Monday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Bold Sports reports.
The Lagos-based side came into the crucial fixture aware that a draw would be sufficient to confirm their place in the top flight, and they delivered under pressure to seal the historic achievement.
The result took Inter Lagos to 29 points from 15 matches, leaving them one point clear of second-placed Beyond Limits in Group A of the Nigeria National League (NNL), thereby clinching one of the promotion spots.

They become the second team to gain promotion to the NPFL, following Doma United, who topped Group C with 26 points, finishing three points ahead of Lobi Stars.
The promotion marks a remarkable rise for Inter Lagos, a club founded just three years ago. Since their inception, they have shown steady progress, highlighted by their triumph in the 2025 Lagos State FA Cup, where they defeated NPFL side Ikorodu City in the final.
With top-flight football now secured, Inter Lagos will look to build on their rapid development and establish themselves as a competitive force in the NPFL.
