Sporting Lagos captain Abdulraheem Suleiman has completed a permanent move to Latvian side FK Metta, the Nigeria National League (NNL) club confirmed on Thursday.
The transfer marks a significant step in the midfielder’s career as he makes the switch to European football following an impressive spell with the Lagos-based side.
“Sporting Lagos confirms that Abdulraheem Suleiman has completed a permanent move to Latvian side FK Metta,” the club announced in an official statement on their website.
Suleiman joined Sporting Lagos ahead of the 2024-25 NNL season from Gombe United and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team. The composed midfielder made 21 appearances in his debut campaign, contributing two assists.
Following the departure of former skipper Aliu Salawudeen to Ikorodu City, Suleiman was appointed club captain ahead of the 2025-26 season, a testament to his leadership qualities and influence within the squad.

Renowned for his ability to control games and dictate tempo from midfield, he continued his fine form into the current season, making eight league appearances while registering one goal and one assist.
In total, the midfield marshal made 32 appearances for Sporting Lagos, recording three assists and one goal during his time at the club.
