Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu found the net twice, netting his 20th league goal of the season to lead Trabzonspor to a 3-1 victory over Kayserispor in their Super Lig clash on Monday, Bold Sports reports
The Nigerian International, who has been on the form of his life in recent weeks, scored for the ninth consecutive game against the relegation-threatened side, securing his team’s fourth win in a row.
Kayserispor got off to the worst possible start as midfielder Dorukhan Toköz received a straight red card just eight minutes into the match, reducing the hosts to ten men for the rest of the game. The visitors took full advantage of the numerical superiority, scoring twice just before half-time to take a 2-0 lead to the break.
Onuachu got the first goal in the second minute of added time, heading in a brilliant cross from Wagner Pina in trademark fashion to give his side the lead. Five minutes later, the striker scored from the spot to extend the visitors’ advantage and all but secure victory.

The onslaught continued in the second half as an unfortunate own goal by Bilal Bayazit made it 3-0 to Trabzonspor in the 53rd minute. Substitute German Onugkha found the net in the 83rd minute to reduce the deficit, but it was not enough to threaten Fatih Tekke’s side, as they comfortably claimed all three points.
The result takes Trabzonspor up to 54 points in 25 matches. They remain third in the Super Lig, three points behind second-placed Fenerbahçe and seven points behind leaders Galatasaray.
With his brace, Onuachu remains the leading goalscorer of the Super Lig. He leads the second Eldor Shomurodov with four goals and has now scored 22 goals across all competitions this season.
