D’Tigress head coach Rena Wakama has unveiled a 17-player provisional roster ahead of Nigeria’s participation in the FIBA Women’s World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament, scheduled to take place in Lyon, France, from March 11 to 17.
Nigeria will face France, Germany, the Philippines, Colombia, and South Korea in what promises to be a highly competitive qualifying series.
For D’Tigress, the tournament will serve as a valuable tune-up, having already secured their place at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup following their triumph at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket.

Leading the squad is team captain Amy Okonkwo, alongside experienced campaigners Promise Amukamara, Ezinne Kalu, Elizabeth Balogun, Nicole Enabosi, Ifunanya Okoro, Pallas Kunayi-Akpannah, Sarah Ogoke, and Murjanatu Musa.
Also included in the provisional list are Blessing Ejiofor, Idubamo Beggi, Wandoo Hembam, Victoria Macaulay, Ayomide Tewogbade, Adenike Olawuyi, Rita Igbokwe, and Grace Efosa.
The 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup is set to hold in Berlin from September 4 to 13. As part of their preparations for the global showpiece, D’Tigress have also lined up an international friendly against WNBA side Minnesota Lynx on April 27.
