Egyptian midfielder Trézéguet said the Pharaohs are ready to go all out and get the win when they face Senegal in the semi-final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations at Grand Stade de Tanger in Tangier later today.

After navigating a gruelling route to the semi-finals, highlighted by a dramatic 3–2 victory over Ivory Coast, the Pharaohs are now firmly focused on securing a record-extending eighth continental title. Amid the rising tension, forward Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Hassan has struck a confident and composed note.

Speaking at a press conference, Trezeguet reflected on Egypt’s journey and the team’s mindset going into the encounter.

“Since the start of the competition, we have approached every match as a final,” he said. “Our preparation remains intense, just as it has been for all our games. We know how difficult the match against Senegal will be. They are a great team with top players, but we are ready.”

Despite Senegal’s reputation for physical strength and athleticism, the winger expressed confidence in Egypt’s tactical depth and attacking options.

“Senegal are indeed a very strong side. We have faced them many times, and they possess numerous qualities, with players at the highest level,” Trezeguet added. “But we also have our own strengths – players with quality and different ways to make a difference. We are capable of winning this match.”

Having suffered defeat in two previous AFCON finals, Trezeguet underlined the collective hunger within the squad to lift the trophy.

“We are working as one team with a single objective: to win and qualify for the final,” he concluded, stressing that focus, efficiency, and unity will be decisive on the night.
