Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Champions, Remo Stars produced a remarkable comeback to secure a thrilling 2-1 victory over El Kanemi Warriors in their league clash at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena on Monday, Bold Sports reports.

Remo Stars who had lost their last five games across all competitions looked like they were heading for another defeat when Jonas Emmanuel scored in the 58th minute to give the visitors the lead.

However, late goals from Victor Mbaoma and Michael Ibe turned the game around, giving Remo Stars their first win in the league since they defeated Wikki Tourist 2-0 on October 6th.

The victory also ensures that the league champions are out of the relegation zone, a result that would certainly bring relief to the supporters and management of the club. They currently have 13 points in 10 games, as such they have the opportunity to climb up the standings if they win their two outstanding matches.

For El Kanemi Warriors, the disappointing defeat sees them remain 14th on the table with 15 points. They would view the loss as a missed opportunity of getting a result at the home of the champions.

In other NPFL results, Rivers United secured their first away win of the season, defeating Kun Khalifat 1-0. Meanwhile, Plateau United also secured a 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance.
