D’Tigers duo Jordan Nwora and Chima Moneke combined for 42 points for Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade), but their efforts fell short in a 97-88 defeat to Bayern Munich in their second game of the 2025/26 EuroLeague season.

Three of the four Nigerians on Zvezda’s roster started the game, Nwora, Moneke, and Ebuka Izundu, alongside guard Codi Miller-McIntyre and center Nikola Kalinic.

Crvena Zvezda began brightly, outscoring Bayern in the first two quarters to take a 55-50 halftime lead. However, Bayern responded strongly after the break, dominating the third quarter 27-16 and edging the fourth 20-17 to seal a nine-point victory.

Nwora led Zvezda with a team-high 27 points (6-of-8 FG, 2-of-6 3PT, 9-of-11 FT), adding five rebounds and two assists. Miller-McIntyre contributed 18 points, Moneke followed with 15, and Tyson Carter chipped in 13. Izundu and Semi Ojeleye added three points apiece.

For Bayern, German international Andreas Obst was named MVP after a spectacular 31-point performance, sinking 9-of-16 from beyond the arc. Oscar Da Silva scored 12 points, Isiaha Mike added 11, and Vladimir Lucic finished with 10.

The result leaves Crvena Zvezda winless in their opening two EuroLeague fixtures, while Bayern bounced back impressively from their season-opening loss to Panathinaikos.
