Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be aiming to net his 10th career UEFA Champions League goal and become Nigeria’s top scorer in the competition when Galatasaray host Premier League champions Liverpool at RAMS Park in their 2025/26 campaign clash.
The Turkish giants are desperate to bounce back after their humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the opening group fixture, a game Osimhen missed due to a hamstring injury sustained during the international break with the Super Eagles.
His fitness has been one of the club’s biggest concerns ahead of the tie, with the striker even holding a late-night meeting with manager Okan Buruk to discuss his level of involvement. Still, the Nigerian forward is eager to return under the bright lights of a Champions League night.

It has been 568 days since Osimhen last featured in the competition, when his former side Napoli lost 3-1 to Barcelona in the round of 16 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Currently tied with Super Eagles legend Obafemi Martins on nine goals, Osimhen has the chance to become Nigeria’s outright top scorer in the competition if he finds the net tonight.
Regarded as one of the most feared strikers in world football, his presence alone is expected to keep Liverpool’s defenders on edge.

Manager Okan Buruk has fired up his squad with a rallying cry.
“Today, you are not just playing against Liverpool, you are playing against all of Europe. Everyone will be watching. Tonight must be Galatasaray’s night. Go out there, fight, and write your name in history.”
