Three Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs, Kwara United, Rivers United, and Abia Warriors, will be looking to secure progression to the second round of their respective CAF inter-club competitions when they take on their opponents today.
All three sides must deliver results to keep their continental campaigns alive in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The spotlight will be on the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, where Kwara United, fresh from a spirited 4-3 loss to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in Accra last week, will seek redemption on home soil.

Having shocked many with their brave display against the more established Kotoko, Kwara United, who qualified for the Confederation Cup as Federation Cup champions, know that only a win in Nigeria will seal their passage to the next round. Their visitors, however, are equally confident of securing a result that will advance them.
In the CAF Champions League, Rivers United have their fate in their own hands when they host Congolese outfit Jeunesse Sportive de Kinshasa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
After a cagey goalless draw away in Kinshasa, Rivers United need just a win to book their ticket to the second round and join fellow Nigerian side Remo Stars, who have already advanced.

For Abia Warriors, the task is much tougher. They face Malian powerhouse Djoliba at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Uyo. While Djoliba only need to avoid defeat to progress, Warriors must pull off an away win to keep their Confederation Cup dream alive.
As it stands, all three Nigerian clubs still have a fighting chance to join Remo Stars in the next round of their continental campaigns, but only results on the pitch today will decide their fate.
