Super Eagles forward Nathan Tella will now work under a new manager after Bayer Leverkusen confirmed the appointment of Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand as head coach.
Hjulmand, who managed Denmark between 2020 and 2024, was unveiled on Monday as Erik ten Hag’s replacement.
Ten Hag was dismissed after failing to win any of his opening two Bundesliga matches, a 3-1 home defeat to Hoffenheim on opening day and a disappointing 2-2 draw against 10-man Werder Bremen before the international break.

In a statement, the club announced, “Welcome to Leverkusen, Kasper Hjulmand! Bayer 04 has appointed the 53-year-old Dane as its new head coach, signing him to a contract until June 30, 2027.”
Tella featured in the starting XI for both games under Ten Hag, registering an assist for Leverkusen in their 3-3 draw against Werder Bremen.
The Nigerian forward will now be eager to build on his bright start and make a strong impression on his new manager.
