The Dallas Wings have re-signed Nigerian international and D’Tigress forward Amy Okonkwo to a second seven-day hardship contract after an impressive debut stint in the WNBA.
The club confirmed the move in an official statement on Friday, noting that Okonkwo will be available for the Wings’ matchup against the Atlanta Dream later tonight (Saturday morning, Nigerian time).
“The Dallas Wings have signed guard Christyn Williams to an extreme hardship contract,” the statement read.
“Additionally, the Wings have signed forward Amy Okonkwo to a second seven-day hardship contract. Both Williams and Okonkwo will be available for tonight’s game at the Atlanta Dream.”
Okonkwo made an immediate impact during her first stint with the team, improving with every outing. She scored 8 points in her WNBA debut against the Seattle Storm, followed by 12 points against the Golden State Valkyries and 14 points versus the Connecticut Sun.
The 27-year-old forward will now look to continue her impressive run when she hits the floor for her fourth career WNBA game with the Wings.
