Sunday Adetunji grabs brace, assist in Ballkani’s 4-2 win over Floriana in Conference League qualifier

Sunday Adetunji delivered a standout performance, scoring twice and providing an assist to help FC Ballkani secure a 4–2 victory over Maltese side Floriana in the second round of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers on Tuesday night, Bold Sports reports.

Both teams had received byes in the first round of the competition.

Floriana struck first in the 8th minute through Jake Grech, but Ballkani responded quickly, equalizing five minutes later through Bleart Tolaj. The Maltese club regained the lead in the 19th minute via Mustapha Jah, only for Adetunji to cancel it out just two minutes later with his first goal of the night.

Adetunji then turned provider, assisting Tolaj’s second goal in the 32nd minute to give Ballkani the lead for the first time.

He capped off an impressive performance by scoring his second of the game in the 76th minute, giving the Kosovo champions a comfortable two-goal cushion ahead of the return leg.

Adetunji, formerly of Shooting Stars and Rivers United, was instrumental in Ballkani’s second-place finish in the 2024/25 Football Superleague of Kosovo season, netting 18 goals and recording five assists in 32 league appearances.
