Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has been named in Atalanta’s squad for their 2025–26 preseason games despite ongoing rumours linking him with a summer move away from the club, Bold Sports reports.
The 27-year-old has attracted significant transfer interest in recent weeks, but new Atalanta boss Ivan Juric appears keen to keep the Nigerian international as part of his plans following the departure of striker Mateo Retegui to Saudi side Al Qadsiah.
Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Lookman as they seek a new left winger, particularly after primary target Nico Williams opted to sign a contract extension with Athletic Bilbao.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also said to be in the race for Lookman. The German side are still searching for reinforcements on the left wing after Chelsea beat them to the signing of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, while Liverpool remain unwilling to part ways with Luis Diaz — another player Bayern had been eyeing.
Despite increasing interest from elite European clubs, Juric is hopeful Atalanta can retain Lookman for the upcoming season.
In his first press conference since taking charge, the Croatian manager emphasised the importance of keeping the club’s core players intact.

“It’s going to be a very tough season in the league, with many fierce competitors,” Juric told reporters. “The club’s idea is to keep both Ederson and Lookman. Even though the club already has a clear transfer strategy, I haven’t made any specific requests for players — not even for the ones already here.”
As part of their preseason schedule, Atalanta will travel to Germany to face RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday, August 2. They will then take on another Bundesliga outfit, FC Köln, on August 9.
