Nigerian striker David Okereke has fueled speculation of a permanent move back to Turkish Super Lig club Gaziantep for the 2025/26 campaign, after sharing a cryptic message on his Instagram story.
Okereke, on loan from Cremonese, enjoyed a productive spell at Gaziantep, netting nine goals and providing three assists across 29 league matches.
His offensive output proved vital in Gaziantep’s successful bid to avoid relegation, as they ultimately finished 14th in the standings, despite a late-season slump of seven games without a win.
Despite Okereke’s “see you later” social media post, insiders suggest the Nigerian forward is not expected to rejoin the club, contrary to the hopes of some supporters.

Gaziantep holds a purchase option for the player. With Okereke’s contract at Cremonese set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season, the Italian club will undoubtedly be eager to finalise a transfer.
