Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi has bid farewell to West Bromwich Albion, confirming his departure after spending six years with the club.
Semi Ajayi, 31, joined West Brom ahead of the 2019–20 campaign following a standout season at Rotherham United where he made 49 appearances and scored eight goals across all competitions.
He played a vital role in helping the Baggies secure promotion to the Premier League in his debut year although their stay was short-lived, as they were relegated back to the Championship after just one season.
Semi Ajayi made 177 appearances for West Brom during his six-year stint at the club, but he is set to join a new team this summer in search of a fresh challenge.

The Nigerian defender announced his exit from West Brom via his Instagram page, saying: “Thank you to everyone connected with West Brom for an incredible six years. To the staff, my teammates, and the fans – thank you for accepting me and embracing me in a way that truly made me feel at home.”

Semi Ajayi is now the second Nigerian player to confirm his departure from a club this summer, following Leon Balogun’s emotional farewell message as he also announced his exit from Rangers.
