Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be aiming to secure his first piece of silverware with Galatasaray when they take on Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final at Gaziantep Stadium today.

Galatasaray’s road to the cup final has been marked by strong performances, drawing with Başakşehir and Konyaspor while securing victory over Boluspor in the group stage before defeating Fenerbahçe and Konyaspor in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively to seal their spot in the final.

On the other hand, Trabzonspor, seeking to claim the trophy for the first time since 2020, have recorded four wins and a draw across the group stage and knockout rounds, defeating Alanyaspor, Rizespor, Bodrum FK, and Göztepe to reach the final.

Victor Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s cup run, scoring twice in the 2-1 quarter-final victory over Fenerbahçe and adding a goal and an assist in the 5-1 semi-final win against Konyaspor. His impressive form has seen him rack up three goals and one assist in just three cup games.

Galatasaray will thus be motivated by Osimhen’s form and their recent record against Trabzonspor, having beaten them 2-0 in their recent league encounter on Saturday while also claiming a 4-3 victory back in December. They are currently unbeaten in their last six meetings with Trabzonspor, with their last defeat dating back to 2022.

With Osimhen’s departure from Galatasaray looming, lifting the cup would not only be a fitting end to a memorable chapter but also add another accolade to his growing list of achievements. For the Nigerian striker, this final represents more than just a title — it’s a chance to leave a lasting legacy.
