Nigeria’s Flying Eagles played out a goalless draw in their second group match at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, drawing 0-0 with Morocco’s Atlas Cubs at the 30 June Stadium, Cairo.
The Flying Eagles had secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Tunisia’s Junior Carthage Eagles in their opening match, while Morocco claimed the top spot in Group B after edging out Kenya 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Despite their strong start to the tournament, both sides struggled to produce clear scoring opportunities in the first half of their clash. Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles had to make a change when Bidemi Amole picked up an injury and was replaced by Theophilus Mendos Rickson.

The second half mirrored the first, as both teams failed to gain control of the game, frequently losing possession and struggling to create any meaningful threats against each other. Despite attempts to raise the tempo through substitutions, the match ended in a goalless draw, with both teams settling for a point each.
The result keeps Morocco at the top of the group, level on four points with Nigeria’s Flying Eagles. Meanwhile, Tunisia’s Junior Carthage Eagles moved up to third place following their 3-1 victory over Kenya.
The Flying Eagles will take on Kenya in their final group stage match on Wednesday, May 7 by 4:00 PM West Africa Time (WAT) at the 30 June Stadium, Cairo. Meanwhile, Morocco will wrap up their group campaign with a clash against fellow North African side Tunisia.
